Produced by WGTE Public Media and hosted by Brad Cresswell, Living American Composers: New Music from Bowling Green draws primarily on live concert recordings from the BGSU New Music Festival and Music at the Forefront concert series, as well as commercial recordings featuring the Bowling Green Philharmonia and the BGSU Wind Symphony.

    Let My Children Hear Music/The Charles Mingus Institute

    LET MY CHILDREN HEAR MUSIC is a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization created in 1986 to promote the compositional legacy of musician and composer Charles Mingus through publishing, education, archival preservation, and performance. The Annual Charles Mingus High School Competition and Festival is produced by Sue Mingus and Let My Children Hear Music/The Charles Mingus Institute and Dr. Keller Coker and The New School of Jazz and the College of Performing Arts. The festival includes a film showcase, student jams, a full day of instrumental clinics exploring the music of Charles Mingus, three nights of performances by the Mingus Big Band at Jazz Standard, and the nationwide competition showcasing young jazz talent from high schools across the country. Outstanding soloists have an opportunity to perform with the Mingus Big Band at Jazz Standard.
